Charles Wayne Rogers

1948 – 2026

Graveside services for Charles Wayne Rogers, 78, will be held on Saturday, June 20, at Dunbar Cemetery. 

Mr. Rogers died peacefully at his home in Emory on June 10, 2026. He was born on May 30, 1948, in Celeste, to Edwin Rogers and Rita Laveta Brimer. 

Mr. Rogers was a US Army veteran and served in Vietnam with honor. Following his military service, he devoted many years to his career as a mechanic for the Dallas Independent School District. He was a hard worker with an exceptional talent for fixing things and could often be found bringing old lawnmowers back to life.

He was never afraid to speak his mind with a quick wit that brought smiles to many. His enjoyment of life was evident in his love of hunting and fishing. He celebrated his last birthday with a visit to the casinos.

He was most proud of his son Jimmy and his grandchildren, who were the heart of his life. Their accomplishments and happiness were his greatest source of pride and fulfillment.

Mr. Rogers is survived by his son, Jimmy Wayne Rogers; grandson, Joshua Willis Rogers and Chloe; great-grandson, Judson Rogers; girlfriend, Debra Clifton Fileck; cousins, Terry Brimer, Billy Brimer, Buddy Brimer, Billy Lee Brimer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Rita Rogers.
