A memorial gathering for Ollie “Marie” Sanchez, 77, will be held on Saturday, February 28, at the home of Chris and Tammy Key, located at 1801 N Oak Branch Rd., Waxahachie, TX 75167.
Mrs. Sanchez died on January 29, 2026, in Sulphur Springs. She was born on January 29, 1949, in Colorado City, Texas, to L.R. Sanchez and Iris Bell Sanchez (Staggs).
Mrs. Sanchez dedicated a significant portion of her life to working as a bank teller. She had a love for flowers, often incorporating them into her paintings and home environment. She created elaborate spaces around her home and knew everything when it came to planting flowers or plants. She loved hummingbirds and created spaces for them to come nest, feed and enjoy her beautiful spaces. She was an amazing cook, homemaker and gardener.
Mrs. Sanchez is survived by her sons, Jason Werneking and Dusty Murley; sisters, Janie Rando and husband Lupe, Doris Cassady, Beatrice Stiles, and Alicia Fry and husband George W.; brothers, Genesis and wife Connie, Gus, Benito, Frank and wife Jackie, Robert, Samuel, and Ralph; dear friend Carolyn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Charles Murley; her parents; sisters, Escolastica Bastardo, Hijina Bastardo, Angela Staggs, Pauline Barrera, Susie Cassady and Iris Ruth; brothers, Juan, Miguel, Lorenzo, Visente, Lonjino, Amador, Daniel, Matthew and Jerry.
