Funeral services for Patricia Ann Hooten, 89, were held on February 3, at Point Church of Christ. Interment followed at Lone Star Cemetery.
Mrs. Hooten, affectionately known as “Boots,” died on January 31, 2026, at her residence in the presence of her loving husband, Dail. She was born on December 22, 1936, in Point.
She dedicated her life to being a devoted wife and mother and was an integral part of her community. She took pride in her four boys, nurturing them with love and care. She was known as everyone’s mother in the neighborhood. She hosted numerous family reunions and left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She was also known for her creative flair, evidenced by the transformation of her children’s pants into fashionable bell-bottoms adorned with patterns.
Her culinary expertise was well celebrated in her family and her delicious taco salad brought everyone together at the table. She also volunteered at Good Samaritans and was an active member of the Point Ladies Civic Club.
Mrs. Hooten is survived by her husband of 70 years, Dail Hooten; sons, Jimmy Hooten and wife Nancy, Todd Hooten and wife Rachel, Michel Wayne Hooten, and Jeff Hooten; grandchildren, Kelly Hooten, Brittaney Kessler and husband Harrison, Ashley Harper and husband Kyle, Payton Hooten, Robert Keller and wife Joanna, Anthony Johnson and wife Courtney, and Dustin Johnson and wife McKenzie; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Helms, Abigail Helms, Jane Harper, Kristin Johnson, Kasper Johnson, Klovis Johnson, Savannah Johnson, Hunter Johnson, Presley Johnson, Hayden Johnson and Ashton Labove; and siblings, Walter Floyd Moseley and Oma Lee Combs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Oma Moseley; granddaughter, Amanda Hooten; and siblings, Flo Rudd, LM Moseley and Lona Hooten.
