A graveside service for Beverly Joan Day, 87, was held on February 2, at Emory City Cemetery.
Mrs. Day died on January 26, 2026, at her home in Emory, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 26, 1938, in Dallas, to Buford Sands and Mary Alice Sands. She graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in Dallas.
She will be remembered for her giving nature, laughter, quiet wit, kindness and strong devotion to God and her faith. She enjoyed planting flowers, RV travels, riding motorcycles with her husband, Don, and friends traveling the U.S. countryside in their motorcycle club, GWRRA.
Mrs. Day is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Don Day; children, Gary Day, Jeanene Day, and Julie Day; grandchildren, Jason Day, David Day, Jordyn Moore and Ashlee Moore; 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, James Sands (Coeta), Betty Walthall (Billy), and Terri Peterson (Robert).
