A memorial service for Cecil Moon, 86, will be held on Saturday, January 17, at 2:00 p.m., at Believers’ Baptist Church.
Mr. Moon died on January 6, 2026. He was born on October 24, 1939, to Ray Moon and June Moon (Hambrick).
He served in the US Air Force for eight years, an experience that shaped much of his character and work ethic. Following his military service, he pursued a successful career as a product development engineer.
He was a loving and involved father, committed not only to raising his children but also to supporting them in their endeavors. His proudest accomplishment was his long and happy marriage to Huberta, the love of his life. Together, they shared an extraordinary journey that spanned 69 wonderful years.
He loved airplanes and worked on them in the service. He was also an active member of his church community, where he could be seen every Sunday, both participating in Sunday school and driving the church bus.
Mr. Moon is survived by sons, Wendell Moon and wife Chaunn, and Russell Moon and fiancé Machelle; grandchildren, Taylor Beasley and husband Jonathan, Bailey Kiser and husband Kyle, Jordan Thomas and husband Al, Brittany Burgess and husband Josh, Megan Moon, Corey Moon, Jordan McReynolds, and Andrew Jesko and wife Lindsey; siblings, Carol Kennedy, Frankie Moon, and Bub Moon; great-grandchildren, Kinlee Wright, Hartlee Beasley, Wyatt Beasley, Lawsyn Kiser, Rachel Thomas, Timothy Thomas, Keena Burgess, Daxton Burgess, and Leeah McReynolds; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
