A memorial service for Douglas Johnson, 85, will be held on Saturday, November 22, at 1:00 p.m., at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mr. Johnson died on October 31, 2025, in Seagoville. He was born on May 4, 1940, in Kaufman, to Arthur and Truman Louise Johnson.
Mr. Johnson loved playing pool and taught others the nuances of the game. He organized pool tournaments and was instrumental in founding the American Poolplayers Association in East Texas.
He cherished his small farm, where he found joy in gardening. He was skilled with his hands, and could fix anything that needed repairing. His skills as a mechanic allowed him to work on cars. He also enjoyed spending time with friends, never turning down a game of dominoes or darts.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his children, Joy Lynn Rivera, Duane Johnson and wife Debbie, Gay Lynn Cook and husband Dennis, and Sandra Lamb; seven step-children; sibling, Billie Bennett; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 12:00 p.m. at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home.
