George Jesse Parten III, 83, died on July 7, 2025. He was born on January 3, 1942, in El Paso, to George Jesse Parten Jr. and Mizelle Parten (Hodge).
Mr. Parten was raised in Garland, where he chose to raise his own family. He worked for 35 years in the insurance industry, primarily with General American Life.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, bird hunting and traveling. His dream was to own a cabin on a lake and he was finally able to with a place at Lake Fork. He was also an avid sports fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns and Texas Rangers.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jo Ann Parten; children, Jeffery Allen Parten and wife Tricia, and Julie Parten Squiers and husband Larry; grandchildren, Ashley Parten, Kayley Parten and Cole Squiers.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
