Funeral services for Charles Marney, 89, were held on May 31, at Emory Baptist Church. Interment followed at Hooker Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Marney died on May 25, 2025. He was born on October 9, 1935, in Hunt County.
For over 50 years, Mr. Marney was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Emory and contributed immeasurably to the community. He earned the distinguished Golden Trowel Award and was involved with Emory Baptist Church.
Mr. Marney is survived by sons, Rick Marney and wife Gale of Haysi, Virginia, and Scott Marney of Georgetown, and daughter-in-law Pam Marney, of Austin; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda Herron of Arlington; brother, Jerry Marney of Point; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Marney; son, Todd Marney; and grandson, Scotty Marney.
