Charles Marion Bell, Jr.

1955 – 2025

A Celebration of Life memorial service for Charles Marion Bell, Jr., 69, will be held at a later date.

Mr. Bell died on March 23, 2025, at Christus Mother Francis hospital in Tyler. He was born on November 4, 1955, in Greenwood, Miss., to Charles Marion Bell, Sr. and Betty Nell Bell (Wilkinson – Ancheta).  He was an organ donor and saved and helped countless others.

He attended Greenville High School and the University of Texas, Austin. He was a hard-working man and started several entrepreneurial businesses before retiring from the post offices of Wood and Rains Counties. He was a good ‘handyman’ around the house and was always willing to help out when anyone was in need. He enjoyed home improvements, fishing, music, business finance, politics, golf, barbecuing and sports. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and Dallas Mavericks fan.

He is survived by daughter, Sara McCarthy and son-in-law Sid McCarthy; brothers, Mike Bell and sister-in-law Lorraine Bell, and Richard Nowell; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Randy Alan Nowell; sister, Jennifer Ruth Grady; and brother-in-law, Anthony Grady.

He was a very loving son, brother, father, and uncle. He was the rock of the family, and will always be remembered as a hero to us all.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Southwest Transplant Alliance, and please consider signing up to be an organ donor.
