William Isaac Newton

1960 – 2025

A Celebration of Life for William Isaac Newton, 64, will be held on January 18, at First Baptist Church of Point, at 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Newton died on January 10, 2025, in Tyler. He was born on October 29, 1960, in Greenville, to Trula Faye Morrow and John William Newton.

Mr. Newton lived in Point most of his life. After a successful career as a Master Electrician for many years, he retired in Emory.

He graduated with the Class of 1979 at Rains High School, where he actively participated in both football and track and field. He was a life-long fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. He was also a member of the FFA at Rains High School and he cherished time spent outdoors fishing and hunting with his family and close friends.

Mr. Newton was a long-standing member of First Baptist Church of Point where he served as deacon and Sunday School teacher, and sang in the church choir. His faith served as a cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions and relationships.

He took immense pride in raising his two nieces, Trula and Swan and taught them invaluable lessons such as how to bait a fishing hook and how to drive a car. He made sure to make it to every single sports game and activity of theirs regardless of how many hours he had worked that day.

Mr. Newton is survived by nieces, Swan Klenke and Trula Capehart and husband, Mark;  brother, J.D. Newton and wife Bobbie; sisters, Thelma Moose and Diana Newton; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Bill Newton.
