Myrtle Wallace

1947 – 2024

Funeral services for Myrtle Wallace, 77, were held on December 18, at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home. Interment followed at Lone Star Cemetery in Point. 

Mrs. Wallace died on December 14, 2024. She was born on January 19, 1947, to James Thomas Yates and Ethel Patterson Yates. She was the next to youngest of six siblings, and was cherished by her three brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Wallace was married to Eugene Anderson Arnold from 1962 until their separation in 1975. They had four children. She was married to David Wallace from 1980 until his death on June 7, 2024. They had two children.

Mrs. Wallace began working with her husband, David, at his excavating company in Quinlan. She worked there from 1978 until 1985. She was a bus driver for Rains Independent School District from 1994 until her retirement in 2001. 

Mrs. Wallace had a passion for reading, and enjoyed mystery novels. She found joy in the great outdoors, especially fishing with David or working together in their vegetable garden. She took special pride in her rose garden.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by daughters, Mary Ann Cowart of Emory, Dallas Theurer and husband Jason of Point, and Jennifer Wallace of Emory; sons, Eugene “Skip” Arnold and wife Theresa of Emory, and John Wallace of Emory; stepdaughters, Christy Owen and husband Wayne of McKinney, Denise Lamothe and husband Steve of Tomball, Darlene Kitchens of Dallas, Charlene Blanchard and husband Augusto of Parkland, FL, and Sharon Wallace of Dallas; stepson, Chris Wallace of Howe; 20 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Wallace; her parents;  brothers, Doug Yates and Gary Yates; sisters, Mary Yates and Peggy Wilson; daughter, Rosalind Walker; and grandson, Ronald Marshall Jr.
