A funeral service for Alene Spicer, 97, was held on October 30, 2024, at the Wilson Orwosky Chapel in Emory, Texas. Interment followed at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Emory.
Mrs. Spicer, died peacefully on October 21, 2024. She was born on January 17, 1927, to Jessie Childers and Inez Childers (Spencer). She had a creative and Godly spirit that would influence her life and the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.
She was born and raised in Emory and graduated from Emory High School. She embarked on a career as a secretary. She retired from Safeway.
Mrs. Spicer expressed her creativity through various hobbies and interests. She was a gifted writer, known for her poems. Her love for music was evident in her talents as a guitarist and pianist, which provided her with joy and an opportunity to connect with others.
Her personality and Godly nature made her a beacon of light in the lives of her friends and family. She will be remembered not only for her artistic endeavors and dedication to her work but also for the kindness and love she shared so freely throughout her life.
Mrs. Spicer is survived by her stepson, Charlie Spicer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charley Spicer; parents, Jessie Childers and Inez Childers (Spencer), four sisters; and three brothers.
